Luke Cage ala Canete
Well here is a quick sketch I did last night. Luke Cage getting hit with bullets. Was thinking about that cover that Canete did a few months back on the mini series he drew. I just love his work. He pushes anatomy and proportion in his figures in such a way that his art just leaps off of the page. Of course that isn't the style I draw my stuff in, but I still study it and find it inspiring.
Anyway, less talking, more drawing.

The Blue Tarzan of Gotham...
Ummm or something like that. I've been really busy with non art stuff lately. Too many people celebrating their Birthdays. Too many family get togethers too. Working on character designs for secret non mentioned comic project. Which reminds me... Designing distinct memorable characters is pretty tough. I'm trying to strike a balance between making them realistic for the era the story takes place in and giving each character a few graphic elements so they're fun to draw and can be represented in various forms through out the story (silhouette for example)
Here's a quick sketch of the Blue Falcon (I believe he had a cartoon once! - with a robot dog as a side kick.) Quick inks, Quicker colours.
